How Our Lifestyle Can Dramatically Affect Our Health

In the recent decade, lifestyle has been an essential aspect of your health. According to the WHO, 60% of our health problems are interlinked to our lifestyles. These are mostly related to your current lifestyles and the health problems related to them can range from minor to some preeminent issues as well.

There can be problems ranging from depression and obesity to heart issues, an increase in cholesterol levels, hypertension & even heart problems like atherosclerosis. Apart from this, it can lead to hypothyroidism or even diabetes mellitus.

Now that we know what sort of diseases can be incurred because of an unhealthy lifestyle, let us go over the causes of these lifestyle disorders.

The very first reason can be work-related. Our working style these days makes us more prone to mental exertion as compared to physical exertion. Spending hours in front of a screen, working late nights and ever-changing sleep cycles, lack of exercise, overuse of the technology, unhealthy diet plans, smoking, alcohol, and drug abuse, are the reasons for increased lifestyle disorders.

Being excessively dependent on medication such as antibiotics may harm the immune system; that is the medicinal abuse, substance abuse, and improper sleep.

Another primary reason for lifestyle disorders can be a lack of physical activity. People tend to forget about body posture when working on a laptop while watching television or while using a mobile phone, which can lead to some serious problems like chronic backache.

As we talked about some other problems like depression and obesity, they can be a result of the long working hours, working under strict deadlines, and wrong body posture. Once these scheduling problems cause anxiety issues or even depression, they can furthermore lead to some other major health problems.

Another reason that can cause a lifestyle disorder is for the people migrating or traveling from one country to another. These people generally acquire the cancer rates of the new host country, suggesting environmental or lifestyle factors play a more prominent role rather than the generic elements.

Last but not the least primary reason for the same is occupational lifestyle habits. E.g., if a person is working in a factory where he/she gets exposed to heat, fumes, dust, sound & cold, it may lead to respiratory problems, allergies, and hearing problems.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle can keep away from an uncountable number of minor and major diseases. Keep in mind that a healthy lifestyle leads to a healthy you.
